The Fishing Boat

I captured this one last Saturday morning as I was walking down by the river Wear in Sunderland. The fishermen were loading a huge ball of tyres onto the boat. I was impressed by what I believe is a helipad,just above the boathouse.

Towel

Multicoloured tea Towel:

This was a tea towel bought for us by my wife's grandmother, from the Lake District. I was in the kitchen (almost my favourite room in the house!), and I had put this on the sideboard after doing the dishes. I don't know why, but I looked at it closely, and something about the texture of the cloth mingled with the array of colours deemed it, in my eyes anyway, pictureworthy. So, I heaved out (okay, not really heaved) the trustworthy Nokia N95, and let Carl Zeiss do all the hard work. What do you think?

The Dead Bee

On the pavement:

This is an atrociously grainy image - obviously not taken in Close Up Mode and therefore not really worthy of being in this blog - but I still posted it. There was something about seeing that bee lying there, on it's back, dead - and yet I still wanted to keep my distance - just in case. Quite sad, really.

The Bored At Work Series...

Buttons:

Okay, okay, I'll admit it - I was bored. Sat at my desk, with nothing to do. So I whipped out the N95, and started snapping. This image of the buttons on the phone caught my eye when I was going back through the images that I had taken. Check it out at full res - and you'll see how dusty the phone is too. Nice.

Hands:

Here we have a great specimen of two images: My hands. The left one, and the right one. And yes, I am considering having my rings cut off. Gulp. Or I could just lose some weight... I must say, though, that checking out the image at full size reveals that the right hand is much clearer than the left hand. I wonder why that could be?

Orange Pepper

On the chopping board...:

I was just about to start cooking - Fajitas were on the menu - and I took the pepper out of the fridge, and chucked it onto the chopping board, which was actually also on a glass chopping surface. I turned round, looked at it, and instead of reaching for the knife, I reached for the N95. Great shot!

Budding

Flower in Porch:

This plant is in the porch of my home - I don't know what type of plant it is - maybe someone can identify it - but it has fantastic colours in it. The beautiful bright red contrasts so well against the yellow flower, and the dark green leaves make an awesome backdrop to the plant. I just couldn't resist taking this photo!
