Penshaw Monument, Sunderland

I took this photo on Sunday. It was a beautiful, although cold, afternoon, and the sun was shining brilliantly.

What I particularly like about this image is the way the monument is framed between the branches of the trees in the foreground. I think I may have just found my new desktop wallpaper.

Comments, as always, much appreciated.

Purple on Green

I was walking along a path yesterday and spotted all of these beautiful flowers growing out of the hedges.

I thought that they looked fab, so whipped out the N95 and snapped it. What do you think?

On a totally unrelated issue, my contract was due for renewal last month. I got a Samsung Tocco. It's a 5 megapixel touchscreen phone. I'm quite content with my Nokia N95, so I gave it to my wife to replace her antiquated Sony Ericsson. Aren't I nice?

Anyway, comments on the photo more than welcome!

The Big Bolt

Snapped this one next to Sunderland University - I have no idea of it's significance, but I thought it image worthy, so whipped out the trusty N95 and took this pic.

What do you think? Comments, as always, welcome.

Wearmouth Bridge

I snapped this one, again last Saturday, as I was walking along the river Wear early in the morning. To the left you can see the grotesque Echo 24 building - premium apartments overlooking the river. Apparently they're really nice inside. Shame they're such an eyesore...
I love this image because it's so grey, and yet the iconic bridge, as a centrepiece, is so eyecatching.
Comments, as always, appreciated.

The Metal Tree

Another picture that I snapped down by the river, this is something that would really creep you out if you saw it at night.

Fortunately, I saw it during the day, thought it looked fantastic, so got this great picture. What do you think?

Comments, as always, appreciated.

The Fishing Boat

I captured this one last Saturday morning as I was walking down by the river Wear in Sunderland. The fishermen were loading a huge ball of tyres onto the boat. I was impressed by what I believe is a helipad, just above the boathouse.

Comments, as always, appreciated.
